Park Club Milton are organising some festive, fun this Christmas through the 5K charity Santa Run, to be held on Friday 14th December, 2018.
The event starts at 12:30 from outside the Park Club gym and is open to all abilities with everyone able to take part, by running, jogging or walking the route.
The event is a great way to get into the festive spirit and most importantly have fun! There is a £10 entry fee and this year we are providing Santa suits for all participants, as well as an open day and other fundraising activities to raise money for this years chosen charity, Parkinson’s UK. Prizes will be available for fastest man and women, and we are calling everyone to come down and challenge themselves for a great cause.
The charity has been chosen in support of the great work by Park Club member, Alex Flynn. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in June 2008 at the age of 36, Alex has gone on to complete many marathons and ultra marathons to raise funding to find a cure, achieving his target distance of 10 million meters in January 2014. His achievements are an inspiration and show what can be achieved despite the barriers put in your way.
Richard Claydon, Group Health & Wellbeing Manager for Soll Leisure commented, “We are delighted to bring back the Santa Run event this year, and hope to make it bigger and better! Last year was a great success and we are calling on everyone to join us again this year to raise money for Parkinson’s UK. We want to encourage all abilities and fitness levels to take part, challenge yourself and get into the Christmas spirit.”
