Soll Leisure is excited to have won the ‘New Partnerships & Collaborations’ award at the Didcot Business and Community event, held at the Cornerstone in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The awards and gala evening was organised by Didcot First, recognising and rewarding excellence amongst local businesses, community groups and charities.
Soll Leisure is a charity leisure management company, aiming to get more people, more active, more often through targeted initiatives for disadvantaged groups to access and receive the many benefits of physical activity. Their target groups include those on low income, health referral, disability groups (including mental health), sedentary adults, young people and over 60s.
The ‘New Partnerships & Collaboration’ award was gained through Soll Leisure’s positive work with local organisations and charities, such as Age UK Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire MIND, OxSPA, Style Acre and Home Farm Trust, helping to deliver sport and fitness sessions that are accessible, enjoyable and improve health and wellbeing.
Richard Claydon, Community Development Manager for Soll Leisure commented, “We are delighted to be recognised for a BACA award and the positive outcomes that have come about through new local partnerships. This has enabled us to launch a variety of new projects helping local residents to benefit from physical activity and improvements to their health and wellbeing.
This would not have been possible without our partners, so a special thanks to all the businesses, community groups and charities that have supported us. Soll Leisure would also like to congratulate the other businesses and charities for winning and being nominated for a BACA, a great demonstration of the positive work that takes place locally.”
Emma East from Didcot First said: "On behalf of Didcot First we'd like to offer our congratulations to all the 12 winners of this year's Business & Community Awards. The whole event is a chance for Didcot and surrounding areas to celebrate excellence and talent from around the local community. Neal Veglio, our sponsors, the 17 independent judges and the team at Cornerstone made it a fabulous event and the audience really enjoyed it. We look forward to launching the 2017 BACAs in spring next year and receiving new nominations for those organisations that deserve the recognition for all their hard work and dedication to providing an impressive service to the communities in which they serve."
